Perth: scotland’s food and drink hub

March 10, 2017

Situated in the heart of Scotland within an hour’s drive of half the country’s population, Perth is a hub of the food and drink industry.

Construction of Perth’s unique £1.8million Food and Drink Park is underway – this encompasses 12 plots of varying sizes, ranging from 1 to 10 acres, which will be completed by the summer.

The site will feature four standard business units ranging in size from 164sqm to 339sqm. Each of the units will have an option for further expansion and subdivision so that they can be tailored to the specific requirements of any occupier. Full permissions have been granted for Mixed Use development.

The units will be available on flexible lease terms also tailored to meet the needs of the occupiers on the 25 hectare site, which lies in an established business location. It’s also an attractive semi-rural setting, with the banks of the River Tay nearby – a haven for salmon fishers.

What makes the Food and Drink Park special is that it is a blank canvas for any food or drink business to come in – they will be able to take the unit and turn it into a bespoke site specifically designed to meet their needs.

The Perth City Region is one of Scotland’s leading areas for food and drink with an annual turnover of £310million and around 130 companies in the processing sector.

Serge Merone, Investment Manager at Perth and Kinross Council, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the food and drink sector in our city region with the potential to make Perth the food and drink capital of Scotland.

“Given its location and the new and innovative facilities provided on the park, it will be unique as there is nothing else like it anywhere else.

“Perth is the most desirable place to live, work, visit and invest. When fully developed the Perth Food and Drink Park could support up to 400 jobs, and make a significant contribution to the Community Plan objective of promoting a prosperous, sustainable and inclusive economy.”
