Dit launch call for capital investment propositions in scotland

September 8, 2017

Capital Investment Team – Regeneration & Infrastructure Projects. ‘Building the Scottish Investment Portfolio’.

Department for International Trade launched its call for projects on 5th September 2017 in Glasgow.

Department for International Trade (DIT) , in partnership with Scottish Development International and Scottish Cities Alliance is seeking projects of scale to take to the international investment market. The launch on the 5th of September in Glasgow is part of a UK wide campaign to bring forward real estate, regeneration and infrastructure projects to meet investment demand and attract external capital to Scotland.

Over the next few months DIT will produce an Investment Portfolio of investable projects to take to the international investment market and help deliver large scale regeneration and infrastructure in Scotland. It is vital that the projects that are promoted by DIT meet investor criteria and have a credible business case. DIT undertakes a review process to ensure that projects meet investor criteria, and will work with project promoters on this. Once investor credibility is established, DIT engages with investors and help to match investors to projects. This is a great opportunity to showcase Scotland’s investment offer.

Marion Francis, DITs Capital Investment Regional Director for Scotland is working with Scottish partners – developers, local authorities, Scottish Development International and the Scottish Cities Alliance to identify projects that have a value greater than £100m and offer a return to investors to populate the Scotland Investment portfolio. This has already been done in Northern Powerhouse and Midlands Engine.
